Home to Gamut Theatre Group, the Gamut Classic Theatre is a medium sized space located in the Downtown Strawberry Square. An intimate theater, it can comfortably seat 100. The three sided setting encircling the stage allows people to watch performances closely. The theater is also home to the well known Harrisburg Shakespeare Festival and the Popcorn Hat Players. Classic plays such as Henry IV, Romeo and Juliet, The Glass Menagerie and several other well known plays have been staged at this classic heritage. As you step into the Whitaker Center for Science and Arts, you enter the world of intrigue and fascination. Featuring three floors of educative exhibits, one can learn everything about mysteries and facts of our world. At the science center, there is something for everyone. Dill's Tavern is a quaint little structure which was built in 1755. It has a mix of of the Early Republic and Colonial Revival styles of architecture. The tavern has undergone modifications in the later years, but has been preserved exceptionally well. Today, it functions as an interpretive history center and is open to public. The entire house can be explored by the visitors, so that they can have a feel of the 18th century living conditions.
