Arts & Museums
Set in the refurbished Robersonville Primitive Baptist Church, St. James Place Museum houses an impressive collection of southern folk art. Quilts from North Carolina, duck decoys and pottery pieces are all part of the collection at the museum. Open by appointment throughout the year, St. James Place Museum is also available for tours.
The Greenville Museum Of Art was founded in 1939 under the able leadership of Miss Alma Spargue who overlooked exhibitions, discussions and art events. More than 70 years later, this museum still functions as the city's pivotal resource for art which ensures that children can participate in most educational programs. Covering 10,000 square feet, facility rentals are possible for seminars and parties so check website for more details on those and ongoing exhibitions. Free admission!
This museum showcases exhibits of nationally and internationally known contemporary artists in a variety of media including fine arts, crafts, graphics, video, and installation art. Student and faculty exhibitions are also featured at this museum.
