    »Second Street Restaurant

    Started in 1985 by brothers from the Williamsburg area, the Second Street Restaurant is an American bistro serving up creative and tasty fare. The brunch menu is available only on Sundays, but lunch, dinner, and nighttime options are available the rest of the week. There is a wide range of entrees and a good choice of inventive salads. Delicious burgers have been voted the best in Williamsburg and the desserts are as sumptuous as they sound. Open late on Fridays and Saturdays, the restaurant becomes a great local hangout to drink and meet the locals.

    Browsing through Colonial Williamsburg is nothing short of stumbling upon a portal to history.  And in this bustling historic street, The Trellis manages to be a great complement to the charming appeal of this tourist location. The Trellis serves American cuisine which covers fresh seafood, duck, meaty dishes and decadent desserts. The most famous 'Death by Chocolate' is said to have been invented here! The decor is pleasant with a beautifully maintained patio with green shrubbery and eclectic plants. The Trellis is a great venue for romantic nights and peaceful conversations. Service has always managed to stay on par with the topmost quality of food and atmosphere this restaurant has always strived to maintain.

    »Fat Canary

    Called "Williamsburg's best restaurant" by The New York Times, Fat Canary opened in 2004 and has become a local favorite. Located in the bustling Merchant's Square, there is a separate menu for those sitting inside and for those on the porch during warm weather. The porch menu is more limited and less expensive than the indoor menu, but great fare can be found on either. Fat Canary serves nouveau American cuisine featuring many fresh ingredients and the wine list is extensive.

    As might be expected, Berret's Taphouse Grill has many beers on tap, including eight local microbrews. Their extended drinks list includes many other domestic and international beers and wines. For the peckish, there is a reasonably extensive menu with a focus on seafood and local produce.  The Taphouse Grill is open from late spring to early fall - call for details.

    Uno's started as a pizzeria but it now has multiple locations and fingers in many culinary pies - at the Williamsburg location, you can get hearty salads, burgers, pasta, chicken dishes, steak, ribs and - of course - Chicago deep dish pizza. To wash it down, there is a range of beers, wines, cocktails and non-alcoholic choices. Uno's is a good family choice with its reasonably inventive kids menu; its also a good place to go if you have absolutely no idea what you want for dinner because Uno's has pretty much everything.

    Popular among college students and night owls, the Library Tavern serves up a variety of foods ranging from steak and seafood to tasty pizzas, salads and sandwiches. The food is pretty affordable, but the main reason that this is such a hot spot is because of the bar's hours. Unlike many places in Williamsburg, the Libary Tavern is open past 2am, so its a great place to go if you're looking for some late night fun in this historical city. They have a reasonable selection of beers and are known for making strong mixed drinks. It may not be the nicest place in town, but it's a great place to head to for a night of laughs with your pals.
