William Sherley Williams has been called the greatest mountain man and trapper of the frontier West. The town of Williams, a mountain a few miles south of town, and this park were all named in his honor. To commemorate his place in local history, an eight-and-a-half-foot, one-ton bronze statue of "Old Bill" (as he is known) was unveiled in the park in 1980. Many local events are held at the site, and both residents and visitors find the park a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a sunny afternoon. The City of Williams Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center
will be pleased to tell you about upcoming events and provide additional information about the park.
