McKinley Statue of Muskegon
349 West Webster Avenue
Muskegon, MI 49441

Located on the Webster Avenue in Downtown Muskegon is a monument dedicated to former President William McKinley. Commissioned by millionaire Charles Hackley, only a few weeks after President McKinley's assassination, the statue was designed by Charles Niehaus and unveiled on Memorial Day, 1902 in the presence of almost 50,000 citizens. Although it commemorates McKinley's contribution to the country, the artwork is often criticized to be low on aesthetic value, perhaps, giving it a closer-to-reality appeal.
