Hiawatha National Forest is a national forest occupying an area of 894,836 acres (362,127 hectares). Lying in the Upper Peninsula of the state of Michigan, visitors can lounge by the 100 miles (160 kilometers) shoreline and enjoy activities like hiking and swimming. Visitors can stay overnight at specific camping areas or book cabins. The forest region is also bequeathed with as many as six officially designated wilderness areas.
