The celebrated Lewis Army Museum dates back to 1919. It was formerly known as the Fort Lewis Military Museum. Th historically significant museum site is established on a land cover of 0.6 acres (0.24 hectares). The structure finely depicts the Stick/Eastlake and the Western Stick styles of architecture. The museum is home to the monumental former Inn, the 'Red Shield Inn'. The museum is a superb site that brags of collectibles in the form of uniforms, military equipment and the museum park is home to an array of tanks, jeeps, military vehicles and much more. The site stands listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
