The fort is located just under 50 miles northwest of the Wisconsin Dells. Other than training exercises and other run-of-the-mill Army procedures, there is fun and recreation to be had in the area, such as fishing and hunting.
Formerly constructed as a meeting hall, the Monroe County Museum is a Classic Revival structure and is historically named as the Sparta Masonic Temple. Included in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, this museum is dedicated to the rich historical heritage of the county.
