Flatiron Crossing shopping mall opened as a large but traditional shopping center. Flatiron Crossing is filled with department shoes, local specialty shops, and indoor sales kiosks and food shops. Over time, the shopping mall has grown an addition called The Village. The Village includes a playground, formal restaurants, larger stores and Boulder County's largest movie theater. The Village also supports seasonal activities such as ice skating. Today, Flatiron Crossing is similar to a city with additional shopping plazas extending beyond the Village. You can also ride a free link bus around shopping center. Flatiron Crossing may not be the easiest mall to get around, but with the sheer size and number of stores, restaurants, and services available, shoppers are sure to find whatever they need! -Sabrina Zirakzadeh
Hammond's Candies has been creating some of the world's sweetest confections since 1920. La Orquidea is a locally owned Latin-American boutique located in the Lafayette shopping district of Boulder County. The store specializes in high fashion for women, teenaged girls and men's formal wear. La Orquidea also carries an additional selection of bridal wear and quinceanera gowns. Need the hottest pair of boots from the runway, the bridal set of your dreams or trendy club wear and jewelry to match? If La Orquidea doesn't have your request, they can order it and have it delivered within the week. Most importantly, La Orquidea is affordable. While several of the dresses might seem expensive at first, the store takes pride in selling clothing for half the price of most retailers carrying the same merchandise. Found Underground Consignment is a bit tricky to find, but worth seeking out. Though not the best of Boulder's consignment boutiques, it is one of the most popular, probably due to its hidden location and exclusive atmosphere. With top brands from Banana Republic, Seven, Abercrombie and Fitch, and even Forever 21 available for less than $40 in most cases, Found Underground Consignment caters to a younger crowd but still carries accessories and shoes for all adults. The prices are higher than most consignment stores, however, so unless you have your heart set on a particular hard-to-find piece of clothing, you would be better off looking for another location. The store has a wide range of books which are range from self-help to topic based guides and they even audio books are available. The store has a wide range of other spiritual accessories like incense sticks, oils, herbs, Feng Shui supplies, candles etc. They have special events on a regular basis too, from divinity workshops readings to film presentations. The shop is an oasis for those interested in the science of spirituality.
Ingeniously laid out amidst the eclectic decor at Joonbugz Kid's Boutique are a range of clothing and apparel exclusively for children. Owner Joni helps you choose from colorful and cute pieces and puts together the perfect outfit for your toddler, while he or she plays at the store's fun area. The array of new and recycled clothes, shoes and accessories are at great prices and cater to boys and girls. In addition, on sale are unique, handcrafted accents like tutus and butterfly Wings, hair ornaments, quilts and bibs, books and toys, as well as a maternity line and childcare paraphernalia.
This creator of decadence, located in the trendy Highland district, bakes an assortment of Mexican sweets. The smells permeating from the quaint shop are enough to increase the waistline. But every inch is worth a taste of the fruit-filled flautas and the creamy flavors of cheesecake! Try to grab a piece of sweet bread (Bolillos) fresh out of the oven. This bakery also stocks a variety of inexpensive, imported Mexican spices. If you are not in the mood for south of the border sweets, you will find a few Italian baked goods including rum cake and cookies.
Northfield Stapleton, located at the Stapleton Airport site, is one of Denver's largest shopping districts. Northfield Stapleton is too large to walk around easily because it consists of an outdoor strip mall and a collection of shops. The stores range from fancy boutiques to family-run bookstores and movie theaters. An entire day could easily be spent shopping there. Yet, the real draw to Northfield Stapleton are the restaurants, dance spots, late-night bars and the comedy and improv clubs. These unique attractions are rarely found so near to each other. Come practice Spanish at this popular and wonderfully authentic Mexican bakery, and pick up a tasty Torta. Bite into the Carnita, or try out a hearty ham and cheese sandwich! In addition to cookies and cakes, Rosales Mexican Bakery offers traditional candies such as Membrillo and Grenudas. Groceries are also available. Chiles, Masa and Nopales are among the regular goods, and as an added bonus you can even drink the water here.
St Killian's cheese shop, located next to the main Highland shopping district, is the best specialty cheese store in Denver. With a huge selection of pre-cut, made to order, and rare cheeses, St Killian's variety can't be beat. The staff is knowledgeable about the age, discovery, and making of their various cheeses. Moreover, the store itself is welcoming, clean, and cheerful, and the cheese is fairly priced even for the rarest varieties. Cured meats, vinegars, oils, and European canned meats are also available.
