Frank's Diner is a diner with a twist, you'll dine in an elegant Northern Pacific Railroad car. The car has been converted into a diner, but with all of the charm of 1906 railroad car. The diner serves American cuisine, try the Chicken Pot Pie or Chicken Fried Steak.
Wild Sage American Bistro offers creative and beautifully prepared meals. The bistro is decorated in warm dark colors which creates a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Try the Pork Tenderloin Marsala or Hand Made Potato Dumplings. The bistro also has a wide selection of local and international wines.
The Steam Plant Grill was originally a steam plant that provided heat and electricity to Spokane until 1986. The plant was not used for ten years and then was recreated to house offices and the Steam Plant Grill. The restaurant features its unusual setting, but contains contemporary and comfortable furniture. The restaurant offers American cuisine and brews their own beers.
Post Street Ale House serves up extra-cold pints of beers (there are 20 types on rotating tap) and very reasonably priced food, all in a charmingly rustic setting. Found in the lovely Hotel Russo, pop in and try their specialty, deep fried pickles, served with the Ale House Sauce. There is also a tasty selection of burgers and sandwiches, dinner entrees (including the Guinness Braised Short Ribs) and some homey desserts, including the old favorite, the root beer float. Moxie combines European and Asian cuisine to create a unique meal. The combines elegant touches and casual ambiance to create a comfortable atmosphere. Prices are moderate considering the quality and creativity of the dishes. Try the Sesame Seed Seared Yellow Fin Tuna or Sautéed Prawns in Red Curry Sauce.

Housed in the charming red brick Atrium building is this old-style European bakery and restaurant. It specializes in Italian cuisine and has become a fast favorite with locals. The pizza is generally excellent, with a good selection of vegetarian options and calzones. Interestingly, the restaurant has an in-house dessert chef so it is well worth trying whatever the night's specialty is. Prices are very reasonable; the bakery is well worth checking out as well, with its mouthwatering selection of cakes and pastries. Call for opening hours.

P.F Chang's is a nationwide chain serving up thoroughly Americanized Chinese fare. The food is consistently decent and portions are big but not heart-stopping - try the fried rice, or the Sichuan beef. There is also a sizable vegetarian menu and a separate menu for kids, including the ever-popular honey chicken. Call for opening hours.
If you want a delicious and filling lunch head to Domini's Sandwiches. This local sandwich shop offers sandwiches stacked high with meat and vegetables. The price is moderate and the service is fast and friendly.

Ideally located within downtown Spokane's Skywalk System, you can watch people scurry about in the STA plaza while you eat in an open, airy room. Ask about the daily special or the Alfred E Newman Sandwich (ham and turkey with bleu cheese on rye) and the owner, Sam, is sure to greet you with a smile.
