Home of the Arts Council of Moore County, this historic house was built in 1903 and features three spacious and unique galleries that display and sell paintings and pottery by local artists. Tennis and basketball courts, as well as a fitness court, are also on site for public play.
Located in a historic Georgian mansion that was built in 1920 and is the former home of author and publisher James Boyd, this cultural center sits on 24 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and gardens and is home to the North Carolina Literary Hall of Fame. An established chamber music series, lecture series, and fine arts series are presented and the facilities are available for rent for private functions.
Honoring the most distinguished Tar Heel men and women of literature, this hall of fame contains photographs, displays, and lists of works for such notable writers as James Boyd, O. Henry, and Thomas Wolfe.
Many letters, photos, artifacts, logbooks, samples, and news clippings of James Walker Tuft, the founder of Pinehurst, that dates back to 1895 are on display here in lighted cases that chronicles the growth and development of Pinehurst Resort, the Village of Pinehurst, and the surrounding area.
