The celebrated Hamlet Historic Depot and Museum is one of the eminent historical sites in North Carolina. It was established and opened as the Hamlet Amtrak Station in the Hamlet region of North Carolina. It was during 2001 and 2004, that the historic station was transformed into a profound museum. It traces the Queen Anne style of architecture and is aesthetically intact. The site is accessible for museum tours from Monday through Friday between 8:00a and 5:00p. The timings for Saturday and Sunday are settled at 1:00p to 5:00p. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Constructed in 1895, the renowned John Blue House is situated in the Lauringburg area of North Carolina. It offers a glimpse into the rural past of the state. The house features circular porches, nine fireplaces, and 12 exterior doors, of which each one has a stained glass pane. The house is surrounded by pecan trees coupled with a collection of structures that actively narrates stories of varied times of the region. The house has gained enormous historic value over the years, and was entered into the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
The Airborne and Special Operations Museum takes its guests on a trip through time, celebrating military history throughout the years. One of the most popular exhibits is the simulator, which lets guests in on the action of what the army is trained to do.
Exploration Station is a museum for children and boasts 12 hands-on exhibits. With charming doll houses, intriguing pirate ships and make-believe grocery stores, kids can play and learn at the same time.
