City of Rocks State Park gets its name from the monolithic rocks that dot the region. These and the native topography of the region give the area a unique landscape, which is of great interest to nature and photography enthusiasts. Another popular attraction at the park is the astronomical observatory, established here due to the perennially clear skies, the region is blessed with.
