The highlight of the menu at Johanna's Kitchen is breakfast, which can be ordered at any time. If you plan to order the country-fried steak and eggs, plan on wearing your elastic-waist pants, because you will likely be stuffed to the core. Lunches are made up of several different and large sandwiches, such as the Turkey Blaster (turkey, lettuce, tomato, and melted Swiss). Dinner is even bigger than lunch or breakfast. Choices include halibut, chicken, pork chops, steak, and some other basics.
From the outside, this cafe is very unassuming. It looks more like a fast-food restaurant than the home of fine Thai food at reasonable prices. However, this place serves delicious, authentic Thai cuisine and is very popular with locals. The food tends to be on the spicy side, so be sure to discuss your preferences with your server. The spicy shrimp in hot chili sauce is a favorite or try a milder chicken or noodle dish.
This authentic Japanese Kushayaki grill offers a newly-opened sushi bar. The decor is traditional and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Portions are very generous and all dinners include soup, salad, rice, and vegetable tempura. The noodle dishes are particularly recommended. Sushi is available a la carte or in combination meals. Dine in or take-out a fantastic feast from this great restaurant.
Tiburon restaurant has a "high tech" feel, featuring black tablecloths and modern art. The entrees are delicious and varied, both the duck and salmon are particularly recommended. Appetizers like mussels in white wine or crab and lobster cakes are delicious. There are a number of interesting and affordable wines. There is also an extensive selection of wines available by the glass.
"Good food, good fortune" advises the menu. This restaurant offers both. Everything served here is very good, from the lemon chicken to the shrimp and scallop cashew . American dinners are also offered for the less adventurous. Casual American-Chinese decor highlights table and booth seating. Be sure to call ahead for reservations, as this South Valley restaurant is always busy with both take-out and customers dining in. A 10% discount is offered for take-out orders.
This is one of the better restaurants in Sandy. With a clean, crisp, casual atmosphere, the ambiance is pleasant without being overdone. The food is very good, especially the New York steak and pizzaole. You can enjoy a broiled New York steak piled with sautéed peppers, onions and mushrooms, accompanied by fresh vegetables and pasta. In addition to this favorite dish, you will find hearty soups, hefty sandwiches, and crisp salads, along with the usual pastas and pizza.
Quintessentially American burgers can be enjoyed at the Salt City Burger. Their burgers are massive in size and leave no room for hunger or disappointment.
This restaurant features four distinct dining rooms profiling Archibald Gardner's life as the husband of 11 women, father of nearly 50 children and devout Mormon pioneer. Memorabilia and photographs serve as decoration. The modern and casual restaurant, in a historic building, serves as a wonderful example of "reclaimed" space while maintaining a simple country charm. At dinner, one can expect classic "American" food ranging from prime rib to traditional turkey dinners. The restaurant offers both a wine list and a variety of local micro-brew beers and ales.
Olive Garden serves up authentic Italian cuisine. Their signature bread sticks and one-of-a-kind menu make them an American icon. Standard Italian options like bruchetta, calamari, ravioli and eggplant parmigiana line their lengthy menu. More exotic items like salmon, chicken dishes and innovative pizzas are also available. For the calorie-counter, Olive Garden has a range of low fat and low carbohydrate options. Their bottomless salads ensure a well-balanced feast. Enjoy your meal with a bottle from their extensive wine list or one of their tropical island drinks. Finally, top it all off with a little something from their dessert menu their cakes, custards and ice creams are sure to win you over. Lunch and take out menus are available.
Located in a strip mall, the decor is rather plain and unassuming. The menu does not include many unusual choices, but the tried-and-true entrees are exceptionally well done. The "Mexican Plate", for example, consists of an enchilada and a beef taco; although not particularly original, it is delicious and a real value. Alcoholic beverages are served with its meals, which patrons are free to enjoy in the dining room or to order from the take-out menu.
Take a break from the local burgers and steaks, and head to Fuji Japanese Steakhouse for an authentic Japanese fare. The place serves well-crafted sushi, while other Japanese specials come out looking nothing less than works of art.
If you are looking for the best steak in the Salt Lake Valley, you just might hit the jackpot at this classy, upscale restaurant in Sandy. The décor is tasteful, clean, and classic, with high-polish tables and chairs and crisp linens at Sandy Carver's Steaks & Chops. The New York steak is so tender it almost melts away, and the Filet Mignon is at its flavored best. The wine list is worth a close look as well. You might not get the quantity of food you expect for the price, but the quality is worth every penny.
