Spread over 253 acres (102.38 hectares), Burton Island State Park is a lush green space nestled amidst the pristine blue waters of Saint Albans Bay. The park opened to the public in 1964. Burton Island State Park features hiking trails, and is a great spot for fishing, rowing or swimming. Various picnic tables and tent sites are offered here. Access to the park is only by boat, and it operates only from May to September; call ahead before visiting.
