Officially deemed as the first massive theater constructed in the state of Virginia, Classic Amphitheater is a 10,000 seater venue. Serving as a major concert venue upto 1991, this place—located within Richmond International Raceway grounds, is used for private events, apart from various racing events. Though very famous in its time, today this amphitheater falls short in comparison to its contemporaries in terms of space and amenities. However, even today an event held here is as much of an entertainment as it was during the glory years of Classic Amphitheater.
