Chicago, IL 60626
Get swept away to the weird and wonderful land of Illyria in a magical comedy loaded with music, monkeys and mayhem. Violet, a shipwrecked young lioness, finds herself separated from her brother and all alone in this strange land. Disguising herself as a boy, Violet sets out on a quest full of colorful characters, from a preposterous peacock to a wacky warthog and his featherbrained dodo sidekick. Inspired by Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night", "Lions in Illyria" is the new play by Jeff Award winner Robert Kauzlaric, whose adaptation of "The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs!" "The New York Times" called "one of the best children's shows of the year." Audiences of all ages will appreciate this imaginative tale from Lifeline Theatre.

Kraftwerk - 8. Tour De France

When Kraftwerk, the German godfathers of electronic music, started playing together they wanted to make music that was clearly reflective of Germany, the way the Beach Boys music was a mirror of life in California. In the '70s, when it was unpopular to strictly use synthetic instruments, the band used electronics to create noises that sounded like robotic feedback. By doing this, Krafwerk pioneered a sound that evolved into what is now commonly accepted as mainstream electronic music.

Mark Lanegan Band
Dynamo Werk21March 06, 2015 7:00 PM
Wasserwerkstrasse 21
Zurich, 8006
In the mid to late '80s Mark Lanegan was instrumental in helping define a style of music that arose out of the Seattle area, later called grunge. Singing lead vocals with the band The Screaming Trees gave Lanegan an opportunity to immerse himself in music, learn instrumental tricks and schmooze with other musicians. After the Trees broke up, Lanegan went on to collaborate with other prominent bands and musicians, including the Southern California stoner rock outfit Queens of the Stone Age. Lanegan's voice kinda sounds like someone rubbed 50 grain sand paper against his throat and to say that he sounds gruff would be an understatement, but his gritty voice is Lanegan's defining characteristic and helps lend resonance to his slightly cryptic music.
