St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission Church
400 West Lake Street
Petoskey, MI 49770
Small and simple is how you would describe St. Francis Solanus Indian Mission Church at first glance. It was built in 1859 by Jean Baptiste Trotochard and assumed its current name in 1884 after the Indian missionary St. Francis Solanus. Being the oldest in the Petoskey area, the church is replete with cultural heritage unlike any other. Although the church is closed and cannot be viewed by the public, it opens its doors on some rare occasions. Instead of waiting for a festive opportunity to visit this tiny church, you could drive by and have a look.
