    »Haunted Walk Of Ottawa (The)

    September 22, 2014

An evening ghost walk is a fun way to learn more about Ottawa's history. Departing from D'Arcy McGee's Irish Pub on Sparks Street, the lantern-lit tour explores graveyards and old haunts during the 90-minute walk. Scary stories, all true, are the only things that are going to jump out at you; there are no unexpected surprises en route. It is a great family night out. Wheelchairs are welcome, but some assistance getting over a few curbs may be necessary. See their website for further information.

»Vintage Trouble - The Swing House Sessions Tour

    September 24, 2014 9:00 PM

Los Angeles band Vintage Trouble is the project of Ty Taylor, lead singer and songwriter. Taylor has enlisted a cadre of talented musicians to flesh out his vision, one that includes the r&b and soul classics of the 1960s and 70s as well as punk and rock music's evolution of sound. Relying on a heavy, unfiltered sound, Vintage Trouble manage to draw on these influences with a potency that has put them in league with The Black Keys and and The White Stripes, folks who have mastered the re-interpretation of raw rock and roll in a way that has set them a part from the rest.

    September 27, 2014 7:30 PM

Having spent the majority of his childhood in New Orleans, singer/songwriter and musician Chris Smither is heavily influenced by the blues of Louisiana as well as American folk music. Acting off of the advice of his musical hero Eric Von Schmidt, Smither moved to Cambridge, MA and began writing and performing his own songs. He developed a local following and released his debut album I'm a Stranger, Too, in 1970. He has since been performing and releasing his brand of blues-inspired Americana that is best exemplified on the 2006 effort, Leave the Light On. The album featured the hit track "Diplomacy," earned him the 42nd spot on Rolling Stone's list of 100 Best Songs of the Year.
