Located in Gatineau, the Jacques Cartier Park is an ideal park for kids in the area. Located very close to the National Gallery of Canada which is across the river, it was named after the French explorer Jacques Carter. Situated at the shore of the Ottawa River in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, the Rockcliffe Yacht Club is a private yacht club. Functioning on a non-profit basis, the club separated from the CFB Rockcliffe in 1984. It has access to some very convenient launching ramps into the Ottawa River. Currently, the club has over a hundred odd members.

Lac Leamy makes for a great getaway for residents of the city of Ottawa, providing them with a number of recreational and relaxation activities. The beachfront of the lake has been transformed into a park, with several picnic tables available on-site, in addition to playgrounds for kids, swimming in the lake, boating and a lot more. The area around the lake is also a significant archaeological site, making it ideal for history buffs.
The Plant Bath was constructed in 1924 along with the Champagne Bath to provide a bath to those of the working class who did not have private baths at their homes. With decline in usage, the bath was completely renovated and rebuilt and was opened as a recreation center in 2004. Today, the center offers a number of facilities such as a swimming pool and swimming lessons, a gymnasium, aerobic classes, skating and much more.
This large pavilion at the edge of the Canal Rideau's picturesque Dows Lake offers relaxation and recreation. Two restaurants with large patios offer casual food, drinks and a wonderful view, while a full-service marina offers fuel, pump out and slip rentals. In winter, the lake becomes part of the Canal Rideau skating rink and the pavilion rents a variety of winter sports equipment, including skates, sleighs and cross-country skis. During the summer, the marina rents canoes, paddleboats and inline skates.

Lac Beauchamp Park is a large park that surrounds a small lake. Comprising of 172 hectares, this huge wooded park offers snowshoe trails as well as ski areas of about 15 kilometres. This area is also visited by bikers, hikers as well as for swimming. Along with a number of recreational activities, this park also hosts the annual sand sculpture competition.
Hampton Park is a recreation and relaxation park located in Ottawa, Ontario. Existing since more than a century in the neighborhood by the same name, today the park has two baseball fields, a basketball court, swings and playgrounds among other recreational spaces. Spread across 20,000 hectares (49,421.07 acres), forms a semi-circle in the center of Ottawa, and is surrounded by an urban landscape. Oldest in the National Capital Region, this 18 hole golf club was established in 1910. The Rivermead Golf Club has hosted a lot of events ranging from the Canadian PGA Championship to the CN Canadian Women's Tour. The club continues to host a horde of events to keep its members involved and active.
