Omaha Public Library - W. Clarke Swanson Branch opened its doors to eager and inquisitive readers and researchers in 1966. Now the library is equipped with computers and the internet and even has special access for teens and kids. The facility conducts quite a few events and runs a few clubs like Rent a Computer Geek, Swanson Swingers Book Club, Witty Whimsical Women Book Club, to name a few. »Memorial Park

This large green space sits in the middle of the city. You cannot miss it while driving down busy Dodge Street. A sea of lush, green grass reaches up to a white monument dedicated to Omahans who died in World War II. A separate memorial honors the men and women killed in Korea and Vietnam. Local citizens raised the money needed to establish the park in 1944. Tall hills offer one of the best sled rides in the city.

»Elmwood Park

Mature trees shade a trail that winds behind the University of Nebraska-Omaha campus. Students and nearby homeowners come here often to jog and walk. Be sure to look for a recently refurbished fountain. A natural spring feeds the Spring Grotto, although these days a city well helps to supplement the flow. It is surrounded by a sunken garden. Each July, the park hosts Omaha's Shakespeare on the Green event. Elmwood Park Golf Course stretches along the southern side.

Although established in 1923, the Omaha Public Library - Benson Branch was only built at it's present location in 1942. The library is facilitated with computers that also have access to the internet. They also conduct regular events like Benson Branch Mystery Book Club to which you can register by logging on to their website. The Omaha Public Library at A.V. Sorensen is well-stocked with a plethora of books and authors in different categories. The library has a number of different clubs like that LEGO Club, the Sorensen Readers Book Club, Wii Fit Kids Club, Wii Fit Teen Club, Movie Day and more. If you're interested in joining a club at the library, do contact them or check their website. Started in 1976, Omaha Public Library - A.V. Sorensen Branch has a computer lab that has eight work stations and even a glass-walled teen center with three computer stations. The 'Children Reading on a Log' sculpture is at this library. Established in 1988, the Omaha Public Library - Milton R. Abrahams Branch is a fabulous branch of the Omaha Public Library system. This library is facilitated with a well connected computer system. Like all the Omaha Public Libraries, the Milton R. Abrahams Branch conducts a number of events and hosts clubs such as the Teen Book Club . »Joslyn Castle

Take a trip back in time to 1903 with a visit to the exquisite family home of George and Sarah Joslyn, two of Omaha's most respected historical citizens. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this Scottish-Baronial style home boasts four stories and 35 rooms. The castle, originally built at a cost of $250,000, is located in the beautiful Gold Coast district and is across the street from the Cornerstone Bed and Breakfast. The castle is open to the public on the first and third Sundays of each month.
