Located in Blairstown, New Jersey, the district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in the year 2007. A major attraction is a grist mill that was originally built in the year 1825 and once served as the town’s library. Many other buildings in the area are from that era and later retained their original structures with very little modern alterations. The village is mostly a residential settlement with some commercial and institutional developments.
Aside from the spectacular natural beauty and scenery to be found in these parks, other attractions and amenities include picnic areas, picnic shelters, playgrounds, nature trails, and activities such as horseback riding, hiking, biking, camping, fishing, and more.
Run under the auspices of the Appalachian Mountain Club, this area provides a variety of outdoor programs for all ages and experience levels, including rustic lodging, swimming, fishing, hiking, canoeing, and more.
The Stockholm United Methodist Church is a historic congregation established in 1826. The church property has an area of 1.8 acres (0.73 hectare) and has been functional ever since its birth. Services and ceremonies are held at the church routinely. The beautiful church building became a part of the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
Start a snowball fight, dash through the snow and get some fresh mountain air at Shawnee Mountain in Pennsylvania. This is a popular ski area that is bustling with a hoard of activities. Founded in 1868, the Mount Freedom Presbyterian Church is located between Sussex Turnpike and Church Roads in Mount Freedom. The congregation is associated with Presbytery of Newton and is actively involved with the community through various activities and services. The church was listed in the US National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
Hillside Road in Chester Borough is home to the First Congregational Church. Spread across a land cover of 2.3 acres (0.9 hectares), the celebrated Greek Revival church building was constructed in 1856. Sunday morning worship begins at 10:30a while the adult Sunday School commences at 9:15a. Youth Confirmation class is another highlight of the Church. Built in Greek Revival style of architecture, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on August 10, 1977.
