It comprises of a massive 181 acres (0.73 square kilometers) of land area. It was actively established on May 27, 1977. The site pulls in great crowds every year. According to the 2005 statistics, the number of annual visitors to the site is 52,690. The site occupies great historic importance and is also fondly referred as Val-Kill.
