The fall landscape that surrounds Ioka Valley Farm is a patchwork of green hills and golden hay, framed by the contrasting Berkshire and Taconic Hills. Its name says it all; Ioka is Indian for "beautiful." Activities and special events are scheduled all year; a big draw are the festivities in the fall that include hayrides on the Giant Pumpkin Wagon, sing-a-longs, pumpkin carving, a spooky Hay Tunnel, a variety of farm-made goodies to snack on and more! Activities are free, but bring cash to satisfy your appetite.
Bring your bicycles, sneakers, or any non-motorized equipment for a run, walk or jog past falling leaves on the five-mile Ashuwillticook Bike Trail. The paved trail is a 10-foot wide, off-road trail on an old rail bed that runs over 11 miles. Entrance to the trail is on Farnums Road, or at the southern entrance to the Berkshire Mall on Route 8, Pittsfield/Lanesborough line. The trail runs through Cheshire, and is open year-round for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, skate skiing and adaptive ski programs. Free admission.
Located between Adams and Williamstown, Mount Greylock boasts of the highest point in Massachusetts. Popular amongst hikers and bikers, Mount Greylock makes for a great adventure trail. The Bascom Lodge, located at its summit, can accommodate up to 32 guests for overnight stays. The lodge also provides a snack bar and a family-style restaurant.
Wahconah Falls State Park is a beautiful park located in the Berkshire town of Dalton. Visitors can relax besides some of the lovely waterfalls or go fishing in one of the many ponds. Pets are permitted provided your furry friend is on a leash. The hiking trails are of moderate difficulty amongst the conifer trees.
Bousquet Ski Area & Family Fun Center is a regional amusement and recreation facility for all seasons. Come to use the water slide, summer camp, go-karts, pool, rock climbing and chairlifts in the summer, while in the winter you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding or snowtubing. You can also have your next banquet, birthday party or event catered.

This wildlife sanctuary provides an educational center and nature trails where one may quietly walk and enjoy the natural scenery and perhaps see some of the protected wildlife of the region; the sanctuary is especially known for its large beaver population, and one will be able to see the dens, lodges and dams that have been constructed by these industrious aquatic mammals.
A long drive along the Massachusetts Route 2 can give you some of the greatest views in the state. The Mohawk Trail which form a part of this highway, is a beautiful stretch spread across 2,275 acres (921 hectares). The trail has to offer more than just scenic views. A lot of activities for recreation are available in this region, that will give you a wholesome outdoor experience. Some of the activities that you can expect to do here include hiking, white water rafting, boating, swimming and skiing. The enchanting views coupled with outdoor sports will complete your holiday.
Equestrians of all ages and levels will enjoy horseback riding through a golden autumn quiet in the peaceful valley of Undermountain Farm. The farm, located 1.5 miles from the main Tanglewood entrance and one mile from the town of Lenox, offers a protective indoor riding arena or opportunities to enjoy the beauty of the Berkshires while galloping through wood and glen in guided individual or group rides. Stables of 150 acres of pastures and fields are on this Victorian farm.
Offers horseback riding lessons for groups, single, pony rides, trail rides, and parties are also available.
