Mainly located in the city of Lufkin, the Ellen Trout Zoo was established in 1967. Although a comparatively small zoo, it is home to a wide range of animals including jaguar, hippopotamus, Bali mynah, white rhinoceros, Maasai giraffe and Saki monkeys, to name a few. Russell’s viper, Galapagos tortoise, Fly River turtle and the rare Malayan tapir are some more attractions.
