The Vada Sheid Community Development Center, also known as The Sheid, is located in Arkansas State University’s Mountain Home campus. Established in 2010, it is named after Vada Webb Sheid, a political luminary in the state, and is one of the largest buildings on site. Sprawling over 65,000 square feet (6,038 square meters), it houses an auditorium, a convention center, conference rooms and a hall used for several performing arts and private events. Equipped with cutting-edge facilities and technical inventory, concerts, art shows, lectures, seminars and wedding receptions are a popular feature.
Spread over less than one acre of land the Estes-Williams American Legion Hut #61, is a Rustic architectural style structure. Built under the survilience of Mr. Estes, a carpenter, the building was built with pine logs, on three sides to make it reflect the 1800s houses of log. The interior walls were covered in plaster and an area of red marble was built for the fire place. This structure cam to be used as a meeting hall.
