    Located in Waitsfield, Mad River Glen is a ski area within the Green Mountain Range. Founded in 1948, it has been dubbed the most challenging terrain on the east coast of United States by SKI magazine. Apart from it's 45 trails of varying degrees of difficulties, there is also scope for wood skiing though snowboarding is banned in this area. It is renowned for one of the only two ski areas in the United States to have a single chairlift.
