"The World's Only Corn Palace is Mitchell's premier tourist attraction." Redecorated each year with naturally colored corn and other grains and native grasses to make it
Corn Palace is a community center and serves as a symbol of tribute to the agriculture heritage of South Dakota. It is the only Corn Palace in the world. The exteriors of the palace are renovated each year based on specific themes. Using differently hued corn husks and grain, the palace is adorned with elaborate and awe-inspiring murals based upon that year's theme. The palace plays host to a variety of events every month. Visit their website to know about upcoming events. Opening hours may vary depending on the events scheduled, so be sure to check their website before planning a visit.
