Founded in 1969 by Robert Boorse, the Milwaukee Ballet is a professional dance company based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Less than a year after its 1970 debut performance in at the University of Winsonsin, Milwaukee's School of Fine Arts, the company began to perform in the Marcus Center for Performing Arts at Uihlein Hall, where it has continued to perform over 40 years later. Funded by sponsors including the Bradley Foundation, The Hertzel Foundation and the United Arts Fund, Milwaukee Ballet hosts an average of 45 performances a year, including at least one world premiere and offers work visas to foreign dancers who attend its affiliated school, Milwakee Ballet School.
