Open daily year-round, the Royal Green Golf Center includes a fully-lighted driving range with self-service ball machines, matted/covered tee stations, a natural grass hitting area, target greens, and a practice bunker. SNAG, a golf merchandise shop, an 18-hole miniature golf course, and lessons are also available at the Royal Green Golf Center.
Fishing, canoeing, kayaking, camping and river tubing adventures for one or more days are provided by Juniata River Adventures, a family owned and operated outdoor adventure company.
"Maintained by the most state-of-the-art, Toro Irrigation System available," Indian Run Golf Club's greens are USGA sand-based bent grass. Three tees are available. Other on-site amenities include a fully stocked, professionally staffed clubhouse and pro shop and carts with GPS.
The private Lewistown County Club features a beautiful 18-hole golf course situated on 198 acres along the banks of the Juniata River. Lewistown Country Club features a two-story club house with locker rooms, offices, a pro shop, grill room, bar and a banquet facility. Weddings, golf outings, and corporate functions can be held here.
A small private campground located in Union County West End Fairgrounds has restrooms with running water and a shower.
The Bald Eagle State Forest covers 193,424 acres (78,275.9 h) and contains within it five other Pennsylvania State Forests as well as the Snyder-Middleswarth Natural Area. The forest began being formed in 1897 due to worries about the forest depletion happening in the area at the time. The forest has over 200 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding as well as picnic areas, campsites and boating and fishing facilities.
