Arts & Museums
Midland Center for the Arts building was designed by Alden Dow. It represents community-based programs, professional programs, presentations & tours, exhibits, lectures, fairs, and films that focus on the arts, humanities and science.
Herbert H. Dow, pioneer scientist and founder of The Dow Chemical Company, perfected his revolutionary process here. Dow began his experiments in the Evens Flour Mill, which has been rebuilt as a 10-gallery barrier-free high-tech interpretive museum. It features automated voices, films and a hologram.
The Castle Museum is a splendid castle-like building built in Renaissance style. Constructed in 1898, to function as a post office, it was formerly called Castle Station or Saginaw Post Office. Now the headquarters of the Historical Society of Saginaw County, The Castle Museum features exhibits on the local culture and heritage.
