The Robert W. Monk Garden is one of the oldest botanical parks in all of Wisconsin. Beautiful new flora is planted at regular intervals creating a diversely beautiful landscape with a rich variety of plant species to admire.
The Woodson House was first built in the year 1914. It was later donated to the city wherein it was renovated and turned into the Woodson History Center as we know it today. Inside, the is a library as well as several exhibits on local history of the county.
Barker-Stewart Island Park is a beautiful natural landscape with scenic walking trails. As you walk over the bridge inside this park, you feel as though you have been transported into the middle of the countryside. The park also has a lot of historic signs which interpret different points and structures in the park and explain their significance.
Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum is charming and quaint museum which essentially features bird art. The work exhibited here is meticulously curated, thus showcasing only the best art works. Walk in and lose yourself amidst beautiful paintings and sculptures related to bird art.The surroundings of the museum compound are well-maintained and render a picturesque sight. The sculpture garden located in the same complex must also be visited. There is no admission fee to visit the museum and there is ample of parking available as well. The museum also has an area for art projects of kids.
Brockmeyer Park is a park that is frequented by the local community for recreational sports. It has three soccer fields within its compound and play equipment is also available. Apart from that, during the winter season, an outdoor skating rink is also available at this park. The park has two parking lots as well.
The Marathon County Fairgrounds are listed in the country's register of historic places. The place hosts the Wisconian Valley Fair every year. Apart from that, it consists of a train for kids and also a carousel that children can hop on. It also includes campgrounds for the locals.
