The Kinnickinnic Church built in 1868 was left in an abandoned state for many years. It was the locals who decided to prevent the church from being sold out as they wanted it to be turned into a historic monument. As time passed, the Kinnickinnic Historical Association took charge and bought this vacant church. The association is a supreme caretaker of the church and hosts various fund-raising activities and social events. The Kinnickinnic Church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the year 2000.

The noted First Presbyterian Church is a historic church located in downtown Hastings, in Minnesota. Built in 1876, the ancient monumental church is also fondly referred as the First United Presbyterian Church. While the congregation was established in 1855, the church structure is encompassed on a land area of less than one acre. It is a supreme structure built by architect Charles Daniel. The building follows the Romanesque style of architecture. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
