The Youngstown State Penguins represents the athletic programs and intercollegiate teams of Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio. An NCAA Division I member, the university competes in the Horizon League and the Missouri Valley Football Conference. The university also fields a men's ice hockey team, which is a member of the American Collegiate Hockey Association. Youngstown maintains a strong track and field program, with the women's squad winning multiple Horizon League championships over the years. Other men's and women's programs sponsored by the school include basketball, football, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, baseball and golf teams.
