On Saturday the theme for the festivities comes into play with a parade celebrating the different modes of transportation from the stagecoach to the modern car, and then again with stagecoach rides on the Square.
When you want to do a parody of the traditional festival, a good way to do it is to dedicate it to the most irriating pest you can find.
Thi historic city is lit with 7 million lights for this festival. The six week festival features a living Christmas tree of area choirs, nightly tours, and a Christmas parade held the first Saturday in December.
A premier facility for all kinds of performance arts, the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center is located on the campus of LeTourneau University in Longview. Opened in 2007, this venue plays host to prominent performance pieces, which, perhaps, otherwise would not be shown in this city. Featuring excellent technical equipment and acoustics, the S.E. Come out and join a series of comedy shows coming to the East Texas area. This show will be held on August 31st at Longview Community Center with comedians Dother Sykes IV, Sarah Spooner, Regina Lacy, J. Lust, and headliner Angelia Walker.
