J’s Caramel Corn, located on the Oregon Coast near Depoe Bay, offers a sweet way to explore the ocean. Kids and kids at heart can experience the making of sweet, sticky caramel corn balls by watching from the window outside, taking in the smells inside, and finally, by getting their sticky hands on a ball of their own. As a specialty store, J’s Caramel Corn has perfected the art of corn balling so you don’t have to! -Cathryn D. Blue
Pelican Pub & Brewery is an award-winning brewery situated in a quaint stone cottage next to the sea. The stone-walled house with the gray roof stands in front of a jagged rock structure protruding out of the fiery waves. This brewery has bagged the first prize at the Great American Beer Festival and numerous medals at the North American Beer Awards, besides prestigious food awards. Here, the focus is not just on good beer but blending the brews into American dishes in a creative manner. Try beers such as Tsunami Stout, Imperial Pelican Ale and Seahops Pale Ale, which are also used as sauces and batters in various recipes. The restaurant has separate menus for children and adults with items like Grilled Tillamook Cheese, Chilled Oysters and the signature Tower of Rings with their Kiwanda Cream Ale. Attend the Brewers Dinner where Darron Welch, their famous brewmaster, dazzles guests with beer trivia and a five-course gourmet menu. This brewery also provides lodging, catering and event planning services for beach-side wedding receptions and corporate events. The experts help arrange music, lighting and flowers, and activities such as horse riding and volleyball tournaments.
