Ned R. McWherter West Tennessee Cultural Arts Center is a prestigious landmark on Jackson’s entertainment scene. Located in downtown, it is popularly known as The Ned and plays host to an array classical and contemporary performing arts. »The Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center

Housed inside more than a century-old structure on Court Square, The Dixie is a premier performing arts center in Huntingdon. Named after the famous actress, Dixie Carter, who was a native of Tennessee, this vibrant space is equipped with a state-of-the-art theater known as the Hal Holbrook Theatre. It has a seating capacity for 471 spectators and is equipped with advanced sound and light technology that enhances the experience of watching world-class performances. Apart from the theater, the performing arts center comprises three dressing rooms and one green (rehearsal) room with an access to the stage. Not only does the center hosts performances by professional artists and groups, it is also used as a venue for school and community events. Events of Carroll Arts Council, Huntingdon Special School District and Carroll Academy, are held here regularly. Tours to the performing arts center are also organized during business hours where you get to visit the various facilities of the center and get an in-depth knowledge about the space.
