Tauheed Epps is a southern hip hop artists from Georgia who creates music under the name 2 Chainz. As one-half of the duo Playaz Circle, he released his first recording titled United We Stand, United We Fall in 2002 using the moniker Tity Boi. The pair attracted the attention of Ludacris after relocating to the College Park, Georgia area and began collaborating with the soon-to-be famous artist. Epps changed his name to 2 Chainz in 2011 and released his solo mixtape T.R.U. REALigion, and broke into the mainstream hip hop scene. He began collaborating with prominent artists in the genre such as Nicki Minaj and Kanye West, both of whom he released hit singles with. 2 Chainz dropped his debut studio album Based on a T.R.U. Story, in 2012.

Post hardcore band Pianos Become the Teeth was formed in Baltimore in 2006. After releasing its debut album Old Pride with Blackjaw Records in 2009, the band subsequently signed with Topshelf Recordings and re-released its debut effort as a digital download and in CD form, reaching a wider audience the second time around. As a screamo act in the later 2000s, the band has been dubbed as part of "The Wave," a new movement of post hardcore bands with similar styles including Touche Amore, Defeater and Make Do and Mend. Pianos Become the Teeth released its sophomore record I'll Be Damned, in 2011.
