The North Elba Show Grounds is a landmark in Lake Placid. Surrounded by scenic beauty and the towering Whiteface Mountain on the horizon, it boasts a unique backdrop for the events it hosts. This is the venue for an array of shows - from concerts and live entertainment, to farmers markets and community festivals. The Lake Placid Horse Show in summer is one of the most popular gatherings in town.
The only professional orchestra in the Adirondack Park, this professional chamber orchestra presents 18 dazzling performances for six weeks every summer and features musicians from major orchestras and university faculties around the country joining the orchestra to present superb concerts.
The Olympic Sports Complex lets you go for a 30-second blobsled ride down the Olympic track and the one used to still train world athletes today. A truck brings you up the side of the mountain and you ride on down in a four-man bobsled. While it is a pricey ride it is certainly an unforgettable one. For the truly daring, the self-guided luge is a one-of-a-kind experience in Lake Placid. Come watch the athletes do timed runs on the course for skeleton, luge and bobsled. If you prefer to experience the snow and ice off the bobsled track, there is 32 miles of cross-country trails, biathlon training facilities and snowshoe paths for everyone in the family to enjoy.
Pendragon Theatre is an ensemble of artists, based in the Adirondacks, providing professional theatre through year round performance and education programs.
