Blackbird Blackbird is the shoegaze-inspired chillwave project of electronic musician, Mikey Sanders. The San Francisco Bay Area native's music is psychedelic-minded and ethereal in its execution, full of wispy echo and reverb-laden vocals, hazy keyboard work and laid-back grooves. Though Blackbird Blackbird is a bedroom project on record, it becomes a fleshed-out, multi-member affair in the live setting, incorporating analog synthesizers, drums and multiple vocalists, including the classically-trained opera singer, Amy Foote.

»Lady Lamb

April 06, 2015 8:00 PM

Aly Spaltro is a singer/songwriter based out of Maine who performs and records under her Lady Lamb the Beekeeper guise. She plays a characteristic style of modern folk rock that highlights the musician's versatile voice and ability to write self-disclosing songs without a tinge of self-pity. Spaltro began penning tunes during the winter of 2007, when the bitter New England chill kept her indoors with her guitar. When she emerged, Spaltro had a handful of tracks that perfectly encapsulated a youthful yearning for something greater, and as she started to play to audiences, her notoriety began to grow. She typically performs solo, with the aid of an acoustic or electric guitar, but occasionally Spaltro is joined by a cast of backing musicians who help add instrumental depth to her listless folk tunes.
