Signed to major label Epitaph, the band has gone from modest beginnings to a fairly illustrious career. Known for its cheeky, sarcastic lyrics, the band often combines musical aggression with a certain self-effacing comedy, allowing their music to be significantly more accessible than other metalcore bands of a similar style.     Royal Canoe is an indie rock band from Canada that was formed in 2009 by Winnipeg-based musician Matt Peters, who had been slowly building a repertoire of songs since he began experimenting with songwriting in 2006. His backing band, made up of several of his long-time friends, helped transform his songs into more robust compositions, particularly during live shows when Peters is often joined by a two-drummer rhythm section. Royal Canoe released its debut album Co-Op Mode, in 2010.

    Prolific for her emotive, soft rock ballads, Sarah McLachlan is a Canadian singer/songwriter and musician from Halifax, Nova Scotia.
