The San Francisco-based alternative funk band Faith No More rose to success in the 1990s with an interesting sound that fused several genres and confused some people with a slighly abrasive style of vocals. The band broke up in 1998, but it has since returned and is now intent spreading its musical gospel around the world.

Thankfully, due to encouragement from his manager in the 1960s, Scottish comic Billy Connolly took a sharp turn away from his original dream of being a folk musician in order to pursue his true talent of making people laugh. The BAFTA Lifetime Achievement recipient was the only guest on the BBC's hit talk show Parkinson to appear in over fifteen episodes, mainly because of his impact when he first appeared on the show telling a dirty joke - rare for the time in 1970 - that solidified Collonoy's place in comedy history. That one appearance ended up taking him all around the world. Connolly manages to stay relevant with timeless jokes and exaggerated stories from his life experiences that he delivers in his iconically thick Scottish accent.

While we dont know all the details yet, the NDIS brings the opportunity for people with disability and the people closest to them, to have a greater say over their support arrangements. This one day workshop reviews what we know about the NDIS and what it will mean for people with a disability. It will be an opportunity to explore what people with disabilities, and the people who support them, can do now to ensure they can best benefit from this opportunity. We will explore topics such as what it takes to have a good life; what support could look like; the contribution of family and friends; choice, self-direction and what it will mean to take control. This interactive day will offer practical strategies on where to start, how to stay connected and how we might design and create support that suits the person, enables them to live a good life and is sustainable over time. New York-based singer/songwriter Sharon Van Etten is a musician who's unafraid of creating music that some people might perceive as being overtly personal. Her mellow folk and soft rock songs are comprised of slightly listless instrumentation, but her pensive lyrics are extremely astute and worth paying attention to. Van Etten released her debut LP, Because I Was In Love, in 2009, and in the short time since its release, she's received a significant amount of praise both from critics and the general listening public for her doleful yet extremely contemplative tunes.
