Located at the northern end of Brisbane's spectacular South Bank Parklands, the Plough Inn is one of the city's longest-standing taverns. The interior of the public bar is historically preserved, whilst the dance floor, exterior stage and beer garden have been designed to embrace the areas new and stylish trend. The Parklands currently has very few areas for drinking and reveling in live music and dancing, so this is the ideal spot for a night out, especially after enjoying South Bank's other attractions and the lively South Bank Markets located right outside.
Brisbane's original entertainment & pool hall hybrid is one of the city's best-known venues. This is the ideal way for a group of friends to have quiet drink and shoot a game of pool or two, all the while listening to the best music from the top 40 charts. There are also a number of small rooms for party groups, complete with big screen television, home cinema sound and karaoke. Margaux's caters to the more mature crowd, the best commercial dance music of the 1980s and 1990s, every weekend. This is a favorite with airline staff enjoying their stopover. The service from the bar staff is first class, both speedy and friendly and never without a big smile. Bar staff also provides table service when the opportunity presents itself.

A newly renovated marble interior greets you upon entry at The Embassy. For those who enjoy a casual gamble, take a peek downstairs at the gaming room, complete with an array of gaming machines and its own bar facilities. The bar is five-star, so even the most finicky of tastes are catered for, and nothing is too much to ask of the extremely friendly staff. Just a hop, skip and jump away from the bustling Conrad Treasury Casino is Irish Murphy's, one of Brisbane's most popular nightspots. City workers flock here every lunchtime to enjoy a beer on the balcony. Whilst being quite large, Irish Murphy's manages to maintain a quaint Irish charm, through quality hardwoods, barrels, and cottage archways. The BJC enjoys a distinction of which few other jazz clubs can boast, a dedicated premises with a beautiful riverfront location. To this end, jazz aficionados would be doing themselves a grievous error in not patronizing this happening establishment. In the heart of Brisbane on Edward Street, the music from Rosie's Live echoes through all its pores. Week after week people continue to visit their favorite haunt. The place has night especially for students and features live bands and DJ's. Famous Australian band Deez Nuts and a few from around the world come to showcase their performance as well. Friday night is strictly reserved for metal heads and their headbanging. Hip Hop also finds its way here with names such as Butter Beats, All Star Tattoo playing here. With a bald eagle as their mascot, people flock to Alices for a bit of Americana Down Under. Located next to Criterion Tavern, the walls are lined with All-American trinkets, but if you want to see them, it is best to arrive before the stampede begins at 1am. If you want a live rock band, then turn right after going down the stairs. If you want a DJ mixing up techno and some R & B then go straight ahead. Alices Bar and Club is particularly loved by students, who gather there religiously every Thursday night for cheap drinks.
An entertainment venue for all those party lovers; Cesars Nightclub is the prime destination. With electrifying music and unlimited fun, the club holds an exciting atmosphere. Offering a wide array of music including hip-hop and rock, one can also find a number of international DJs giving their best at the turn table.
Euphoria invites you to a night of pulsating dance music, promising to leave your senses lifted and your legs weak. Designed primarily for dance, there are several subsections in the large room downstairs, allowing the DJs to display their own unique styles of music mixing. Upmarket and ritzy, Someplace Else is a haven for the more mature party goer. Despite the often-confusing name (try telling someone to meet you "someplace else" and they will invariably say, "yes, but where?") this is a fun venue for dancing and meeting people, with the best new music always supplemented by your favorite tunes from the last couple of decades. There is a small eatery in the entrance for those who wish to have a quick meal before they shake their groove thing or move to the bar.
