The mischievous Cat in the Hat, played by Olympic gymnast-turned-"Peter Pan"-star Cathy Rigby, joins a cast of everyone's favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie, the Whos of Whoville and the grouchy Grinch in this whimsical production of "Seussical". The famous stories of Dr. Seuss are linked together in the show by JoJo, a young boy who is a "thinker of strange and wonderful thinks," and Horton the Elephant, who's out to prove that "a person's a person, no matter how small." Each charming story is backed by a myriad of musical styles, from Latin to pop, swing to gospel, and R&B to funk. Dr. Seuss's trademark sense of fun and wonder come through loud and clear, making this a musical that appeals to all ages.

»The Laramie Project

February 28, 2015 8:00 PM

The story of Matthew Shepard made national headlines in 1998: The 21-year-old gay college student was savagely beaten, tied to a fence and left to die in Laramie, Wyoming. Two men were arrested and charged with kidnapping, aggravated robbery and attempted first-degree murder for the hate crime. One month later, when emotions were still raw, director Moisés Kaufman and his team began conducting hundreds of interviews with the people of Laramie. From those interviews came "The Laramie Project," a brutally honest and thought-provoking "live documentary" about an outraged nation and a stunned Wyoming town. One of the last decade's most performed American plays, and also adapted into a 2002 HBO movie, "The Laramie Project" is a heart-rending theatrical collage that explores the depths to which humanity can sink as well as the heights of compassion of which we are capable. A new generation of actors brings to life at El Camino College Center for the Arts a living mosaic of one community's response to a tragedy that became a catalyst for cultural and social change in America.

Between courses you can expect plenty of murder, mayhem and hidden clues coming to light as you puzzle through the crime.
