The Kansas Cosmosphere & Space Center is an excellent place to take a field trip to as you will get to learn and unravel truths about the universe that are a big mystery to all of us till date. There is a planetarium as well as various artifacts, exhibitions, movies and more that will aid you in gathering knowledge. A 1,123-acre natural area, Sand Hills State Park preserves sand dunes, grasslands, wetlands and woodlands. Activities enjoyed by visitors include hiking, horseback riding, hunting, bird watching, wildflower walks, and jogging.
A designated National Urban Wildlife Sanctuary, this 100-acre "wild arboretum" features more than 300 species of woody plants, hundreds of varieties of wildflowers and native grasses, 200 species of birds, wildlife and three miles of national recreation trails. The 10,000 square foot Visitor Center includes interactive exhibits, a 1,300 square foot meeting room, natural science classroom, nature library, an observation deck, and a gift shop.
The Hutchinson Zoo is a 9-acre (3.6 hectare) zoo in Hutchinson, in the state of Kansas. The zoo is divided into different classifications of animals like Horns and Antlers, Prairie Inhibitors, Spider Web and so on. There is also a gift shop available at the zoo. Entry is free, but visitors can also enroll themselves for educative tours and programs for a fee.
