New Market Battlefield State Historical Park
Mo to Su from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PMVirginia has seen the best and worst of the American Civil War. The New Market Battlefield State Historical Park is a major historical site of the Civil War. The site commemorates the 57 cadets among those of which 10 died in the war. Spread across 300 acres, there are several interesting historic buildings on the farm. The Bushong Farm built in the 19th century is both architecturally and historically important. To know more about the war visit the Hall of Valor. It houses several historic exhibits reflecting the happenings of that period. The green grounds overlooking the beautiful Shenandoah River are open to the public for picnics.
