Weatherbox is an emo punk band from San Diego, California that was formed in 2005.Having built a reputation for itself with frequent shows throughout the Southern California region during its formative years, the group would go on to release its debut LP, American Art, in 2007 and further solidify its standing in the San Diego pop punk community. Though the group has gone through a number of lineup changes since its inception, it has nevertheless managed to maintain a fairly consisting recording schedule as well as a busy touring regime.

    »The Fresh & Onlys

    July 28, 2014 8:00 PM

At the core of San Francisco's persistent lo-fi movement, is The Fresh & Onlys - a four-piece that also draws on another everlasting San Francisco movement: the psych rock popularized in the 1960s Haight Ashbury district. With both of these movements at hand, The Fresh & Onlys has been adopted by its native city as a true representative of San Francisco music. While there's certainly a good deal of psych-influenced, lo-fi garage pop bands in the Bay Area music scene, most locals have eaten up everything The Fresh & Onlys has dished out and the group continues to be a California favorite.

    »Nick Waterhouse

    July 28, 2014 8:00 PM

Raised in Southern California, Nick Waterhouse grew up playing in popular local bands but it was his solo career that gained him more widespread fame. With a penchant for vintage rock and roll and old school Southern R&B, Waterhouse first showed an interest in this style of music with his Huntington Beach-based band The Intelligista, but after its members decided to go their separate ways off to college, Waterhouse was left on his own to develop his characteristic style. Though the singer/songwriter and his backing band, dubbed The Turnkeys, aren't a mainstream radio act by any means, their single "Is That Clear" gained such popularity that the vinyl was selling on Ebay for up to $200, marking Waterhouse as an artist to keep an eye on.
