Dent May is an American indie pop singer/songwriter based out of Taylor, Mississippi. Signed to popular indie label Paw Tracks, he creates stripped-down tracks full of ukulele, acoustic guitar and quirky arrangements, calling to mind the work of Stephin Merritt and Jonathan Richman--songwriters whose influences May proudly wears on his sleeves. When he's not performing solo, May plays with a four-piece band that goes by the name, Dent May & His Magnificent Ukulele. The group released its debut LP in 2009 and has since seen a solid amount of positive press embracing its simple and effective twee songwriting style.
