Simkins Indoor Sports Pavilion, located at Barber Park, provides sports enthusiasts with a place to hone their skills and indulge in some fun competition between friends. The indoor courts can be converted to accommodate basketball, volleyball or tennis, and a large conference room on the premises provides leagues with a place to meet. Situated at the Grandover Resort and Conference Center, the Grandover Golf Club features two 18-hole, par 72 courses designed by David Graham and Gary Panks. Home of the Ken Venturi Golf Academy, this club features a locker room facility, lessons, a golf shop, fine dining restaurant, and 1,500 acres of oaks, pine and dogwood covered hills.
Located near the Bicentennial Garden, The Bog Garden gives visitors a rare chance to walk through the wetlands via an elevated walkway. Visitors will be surrounded by lush green vistas - a welcome escape from the sights and sounds of the city. The nature preserve contains a multitude of local flora and fauna, and the notable attractions in the park are the Dr. Joe Christian Serenity Falls and the Starmount Farms Lake Overlook. About a mile of trails wind through the park, and bicycles are strictly prohibited.
The Tanger Family Bicentennial Garden was created by Greensboro Beautiful, Inc. in conjunction with the Greensboro Parks & Recreation Department. Greensboro Beautiful is a nonprofit organization dedicated to maintaining and enhancing Greensboro's natural beauty, and in 1976 created the Bicentennial Garden with that purpose in mind. Sculptures of historical interest are placed throughout the park, and the flowering trees, lush greenery, and flowing stream create an idyllic setting for a romantic or family outing. This public garden is open daily from dawn until dusk, and is available for weddings.
Celebration Station is the perfect place for a fun outing. The amusement park contains an arcade with over 100 games, bumper boats, go-karts, mini-golf, rides and batting cages. Entrance to the park is free, and prices for each activity differ. A minimum height requirement applies to some of the attractions. Rates for large groups are available, and birthday packages include a meal in the on-site restaurant.
The official practice facility for the Greensboro Generals, this 36,000 square foot facility features a standard 200-foot by 85-foot ice surface, as well as bi-level seating, four enclosed locker rooms with showers, three large multipurpose rooms, a full service snack bar, and a pro shop. Adult and youth hockey leagues and tournaments are available, as well as figure skating lessons, clinics, and daily public skating sessions.
Hagan Stone Park is 409-acres (165.55 hectares) of lush, scenic campground and recreational facility. The park is open for camping all year-round with sites available either in wooded or open sites for tents, RVs, or trailers. Groups of up to 40 people can be reserved, with 8 miles (12.87 kilometers) of trails for walking, biking or hiking. Picnic shelters can also be reserved. In fact, reservations are encouraged if so desired.
Lighted until midnight, this 18 hole, par 54 golf course is open from April to October and includes a practice putting green, a clubhouse, club rentals and pull carts, a full service wine shop, and a snack bar.

Back during the Revolutionary War the battle for Guilford Courthouse was fought, with Major General Nathanael Greene and his men and American militia trying defending the land against the British and German allies led by Lord Charles Cornwallis. Eventually Corwallis and his troops forced Greene to retreat, before Corwallis himself surrendered to George Washington. Today, the grounds stand as a memorial to our country's history as well as to the world at large with 28 monuments all around the park.
