The Gaelic translation of Tír na nÓg means “land of eternal youth.” For anyone who's eaten here, that land also includes great food and a long list of beers. Step through the stone archway into an open warehouse style dining area where simple wooden tables and chairs line the tile floors and brick lines the walls. The Irish Stew shares the menu with a tender pecan encrusted pork loin and Boxty, a traditional Irish potato pancake stuffed with your choice of succulent fillings. Live music fills the air on weekends.

Years ago, it would have been difficult to find a hip, urban hot spot where one can enjoy a nice meal and then dance until the wee hours. Five Star proves that Raleigh can party with the best of them. Fashioned from an old tobacco warehouse, the restaurant is decorated in a hip, minimalist style and all in red. There are two full-service bars and a large dance floor perfect for the large crowds that frequent the restaurant.

A favorite for the after-work crowd, this bar caters to cigar and martini lovers—both connoisseurs and those who aspire to be. Although it doesn't look like much from the outside, it is quite a find for those who want a quiet place to relax, far from the demands of work or the boisterous crowds downtown. The atmosphere is masculine, but not stuffy, and the staff is friendly and offers great service. There is no dress code and, for a small fee, anyone can become a member.
Noir exudes the very mystique and charisma that surrounds its name. This lounge is one of the best places to experience Raleigh by night and entertains the elite set of the city's club-goers. Shimmering drapes dazzle under spotlights while vintage chandeliers punctuate the exposed-brick walls. Velvet couches and antique decor set a tone of old-world glam. The DJ booth boasts guest artists spinning an eclectic mix of the latest beats and top hits. The black bar (it is "Noir" bar after all) features an impressive list of creative cocktails and spirits that make great accompaniments to the night.
Disco Rodeo is a live music venue located in the city of Raleigh. This venue books musicians that range the gambit of music genres. There's ample parking but come early if you want to grab a good spot in which to watch the bands perform. The venue provides both a ground floor and balcony in which to view the performance but it's standing room only. Disco Rodeo is easy to find off of Interstate 440.
