Established in 1997, Clarks River National Wildlife Refuge has bottomland hardwood forests which are known for its rich ecosystem. An abundant amount of animals call this reserve home, including Cerulean warblers, Northern River Otters, Bobcats, and Cope's Gray Tree Frogs. Visitors can walk along the trails and go fishing after receiving a permit. Hunting is also allowed if you get a permit and it's hunting season.
Get ready for a fun and wet day at Venture River Water Park. This water park has a lot of fun and kid friendly rides, including The Cliffhanger, Dueling Demon Speed Slides, and The Waloopas. If you're not into thrills there are still plenty of things to do, such as relaxing and letting the current guide you on Old Man River or renting a cabana.
The vicinity of Kentucky and Tennessee is located in the middle of the Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake, and is bestowed with a stellar national recreational area.
